This true crime docuseries covers the disturbing history of Rodney Alcala, who targeted his victims by posing as a professional photographer. Despite brutally killing at least eight women between 1968 and 1979, Alcala consistently evaded detection. He was finally captured after appearing on the popular reality show “The Dating Game,” where he wound up winning a date with a contestant right amid his murder spree.
In 1968, Alcala flees Los Angeles after the rape and attempted murder of an 8-year-old. He then moves to New York and begins working at a kid's summer camp.
In 1977, posing as a successful photographer, Alcala hunts the streets for victims, killing multiple women. The next year, he goes on “The Dating Game” show.
