Wildland

Wildland

Directed by Alex Jablonski, Kahlil Hudson

Filmed over one fire season, Wildland is a sweeping yet deeply personal account of a single wildland firefighting crew as they struggle with fear, loyalty, dreams, and demons. What emerges is a rich story of working-class men — their exterior world, their interior lives and the fire that lies between.

Fairly interesting, brief look into new wildfire firefighter recruits, as they do their initial 5-day training, and go off to fight a portion of the now-infamous Camp Fire that ravaged California. Personally, I liked the cinematography of it. The music and poetry helped the story flow smoothly. I just wanted to see more of the background of the firemen, and what happened after they were finished with their first season.
