The year is 1947. The great house is home to the final British Viceroy of India, Lord Mountbatten, his family, and 500 Hindu, Muslim, and Sikh servants. Mountbatten is tasked with handing over the reins of government, but, as the political elite – Nehru, Jinnah, and Gandhi – converge to wrangle over the birth of an independent India, conflict erupts. A decision is made to divide the country and create a new Muslim homeland: Pakistan. It is a decision whose consequences reverberate to this day.

Delhi, 1947. At the British Viceroy’s residence, political players gather to decide the division and birth of two independent nations: India and Pakistan.
