In the backyards of South Central Los Angeles, a handful of men find a rare devotion: tumbling pigeons. They breed and train their birds for the Birmingham Roller Pigeon World Cup, where pigeons fly together and somersault in unison, like a flock of synchronized swimmers in the sky. A former champion gives us a glimpse into this world, where the pigeons provide a community and a sense of hope. As long as they have their birds, nothing will stop these men.
Men from the mean streets of South Central Los Angeles find hope through their dedication to raising, training and competing somersaulting pigeons.

I enjoyed this look into Pigeon Kings. It's about the lives of the men and of the pigeons. Definitely worth the watch. It's not a nature documentary but a glimpse into Birmingham Pigeon Rollers and their 'families'.
Before watching this I never knew there was such a thing as roller pigeons. I’m not sure there’s a plot here, but it is an introduction to the “sport”.
