How To Start A Revolution

How To Start A Revolution

Directed by Ruaridh Arrow

As waves of revolutionary spirit sweep the world, one man’s ideas continue to inspire, mobilise and unite protestors, giving them the tools to topple dictators. Quiet, unassuming, and softly spoken, 83-year-old Professor Gene Sharp is the world’s leading expert on nonviolent revolution. His controversial book ‘From Dictatorship to Democracy’ has been smuggled across borders, handed between revolutionaries and hidden from secret policemen the world over, becoming the definitive manual for anyone wanting to start a revolution. For the first time, this award-winning film reveals how the Nobel Peace Prize nominee's work has brought dramatic results, from Serbia to Ukraine to Egypt to Syria, spreading across the globe in an unstoppable wave of profound democratic change. This is the inspirational story of the power of people to change their world, the modern revolution, and the man behind it all.

The negative reviews strike me as blaming Einstein for Hiroshima: All tools are available for good or nefarious use. This film is an excellent portrayal of the life's work of the brilliant man that Politico called, "The most important American political figure you’ve never heard of." Regardless of whether or not there was covert US "help" in any of the subject countries, all methods taught by Sharp are rendered impotent unless supported by significant numbers of the country's native citizenry. Doesn't that hit pretty close to what we think democracy is? For me, it provided a timely (and terrifying) new framework from which to view current events in our own backyards.

Is Sundance a Soros funded “entertainment “ propaganda machine?. With the USA in a Color Revolution. Don’t try to con people into believing it is from dictatorship to democracy movement. It is a global NWO Marxist movement . I won’t be renewing sundance.
