It all falls apart at the end. This film is not good at all.
The ending made absolutely no sense. First off, the "other woman" was a horrible actress with the depth of a sheet of paper. Literally there were three scenes of the present to wrap up the whole flashback.... except the ending had NOTHING to do with the long duration of the movie. I have never been more frustrated with a movie! How did all these breakups and new relationships happen?! The movie never explained!
There were four great beauties in this film; the main character, his wife, Canada, and the featured architecture. I enjoyed this. It is made in that French film tradition that is more about the subtleties and nuances of relationships than it is about ultimate meaning or plot.
Not bad. I would have like more of a story line. Felt rushed.
