Night Moves (2013) 3 1/2 out of 5 (Sundance Now) Cautionary tale about idealism and taking extreme measures to "save the planet." We follow three individuals who decide to take action. And we witness their varying degrees of preparedness for the fall out and ramifications of their actions. Based somewhat on the actions of Earth First, a radical environmentalist group. Mostly inconsequential posers who primary claim to fame is Monkey Wrenching, sabotaging logging equipment. They were also responsible for a major case of arson which burned down several McMansions.
Slow and haunting. Shows how one event rarely stands alone but ripples outward in unexpected and sometimes tragic ways.
I really liked this movie. It demonstrates well the consequences to what appears to be well-intentioned actions based on idealism. Life is not simple, and neither are solutions to difficult problems. Well done!!
Rezension Night Moves
I stayed engaged in the movie, but boy, it was slow! The acting was ok, but the script they had was lacking in many ways. The dialogue was pretty much empty.
