In the Bathtub of the World |
Caveh Zahedi is an artist and filmmaker who has found success through his experimental works such as A LITTLE STIFF, and his film theories which are on display in the pages of FILM COMMENT. He is also an actor, seen in the animated world of WAKING LIFE.
Zahedi has been riddled by failure and is plagued by self-deprecation despite critical acclaim for his films. This work is a video diary of a year in the filmmaker's life. Part of this experiment involved Zahedi filming at least one minute of every day of his life during this time, which causes conflict between him and his girlfriend.
Zahedi's passions go beyond filmmaking as he struggles with obsessions ranging from his appetite for reading, to his interest in prostitutes. The film's title derives from a poem by John Ashberry. |
